  Bespoke Printer Booth construction
Printer Booth Design and Construction

The Printer Booth is meticulously designed and constructed using oak-veneered plywood, supported by a sturdy solid wood tripod.

This structure was specifically tailored to accommodate the printer it houses, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

The Printer Booth features a rectangular body with semicircular corners, crafted from flexible plywood to achieve its elegant curved design. The oak veneer, stained with a water-based dye in the client's chosen color, enhances the natural beauty of the wood. A precisely calculated opening on the front of the booth allows printed photos to emerge seamlessly. Below this opening, a custom-designed tray catches the photos, preventing them from scattering. The side panels are engineered for optimal ventilation, preventing the printer from overheating during operation. Gold-colored perforated plexiglass covers these ventilation windows, adding both style and functionality. At the base of the box, an opening is strategically placed for the printer's cables to connect easily to the corresponding Photo Booth. The Printer Booth is topped with a "hat box" style lid that fits snugly inside, featuring a leather handle for easy access.

The solid hardwood tripod, stained to match the box, provides stable support and complements the overall design.

This Printer Booth is available in the natural tones of oak wood or can be customized in any desired color, serving as a perfect extension of the Photo Booths we've designed.

Together, these constructions form a cohesive and complete photographic station.

Mirror Booth Design and Construction

Design and construction of a Mirror Booth made of plywood lined with Padauk veneer and solid timber tripod.

The construction was designed and implemented according to the specifications provided by the photographer. The body of the Mirror Booth is cylindrical and it is made of flexible plywood, which provides the capability to create its circular form. It is plated with padauk veneer, an exotic African timber variety.

The mirror used is specially machined based on clear specifications as requested so as to allows the interface of the screen mounted from the back to be seen in order to carry out the operation of the Mirror Booth. For functionality purposes, a special film has been applied on the mirror that converts both the glass and the screen into a touch screen. Inside the cylinder, a special study has been carried out in order to fit in the camera, the screen, the computer and all the electronic installation such as fans, power supply etc. on the appropriate mounts. At the bottom of the box a specially designed base has been placed for the tripod socket, while the top yields a hole for the external flash. Finally, as for the closing of the box, it is of a hatbox type, with a cap placed inside the box, while two leather handles have been placed for opening.

As for the tripod, it is made of hard solid wood. A study has been carried out so that the height of the tripod can be adjusted by means of the arms that have been fitted. Moreover, the connection of the tripod elements has been made with bronze elements. The tripod has been imbued with water-based paint in the shade of black, in order to create a contrast with the strong natural colour of the box's wood veneer.

The body of the Mirror Booth can also be covered with veneer imbued in blue.

Construction of a Photo Booth made of oak and mirrored plexiglass

Demanding Photo Booth construction made of flexible plywood lined with oak veneer.

The Photo Booth was constructed for the -Make a Memory Studio- who provided us with a series of sketches of the project they wished us to implement. It is a multi-dimensional project, as the construction consists of circular forms, where both the construction of particular molds and simultaneously combination of different materials is required.

The main body of the construction is oval shaped yielding a hollow space for the detachable cylinder where the camera and laptop are housed. The interior is designed in such a way, so as to accommodate a printer, while its side carries a matching slot for photos being developed. On its back side, a door with a lock has been formed and cut to provide access to the printer and the electronic parts of the construction. Finally, its front has been designed and constructed to allow space for the installation of a LED strip. As for the cylinder adjusted onto the body of the Photo Booth is circular shaped in a 50cm diameter, providing exact spaces to mount both the camera and the laptop, as well.

The camera base is constructed in such a way as to allow the camera to move back and forth in order to fit or remove the lens from its relative opening. It communicates with the body of the structure through a hole in the base, through which connecting cables of the photographic equipment pass through. Additionally, on its front it bears special paths where LED strips are mounted. To seal the cylinder, a special cap has been constructed to fit inside the cylinder. Finally, it carries a hole for mounting an external flash. On both parts of the construction, thorough study has been conducted for a bronze-coloured mirrored Plexiglass to be placed, following the forms of the components.

The legs on which the Photo Booth rests are metal and embrace it, since they penetrate the structure through slots, giving the feeling of floating. Polyurethane varnishes have been used for the finish.

All the necessary tasks carried out such as: the use of laser cutters, the linings, the carpentry work etc. have been processed and completed at our workshop so that the customer receives a flawless final product.

Moreover, provision has been made for the replacement of any separate spare part in case of damage or wearing down.

Construction of Photo Booth made of oak

Custom made Photo Booth construction, according to the specifications and designs provided by the photographer.

The Photo Booth box, is made of plywood lined with oak veneer. Its form is rectangular carrying semi-circular corners, where a special way of cutting the plywood was applied.

The technique used allows the wood to curve naturally. The box has an adaptable camera mount. The base can also be adjusted in height, but after applying special regulations , it also allows the photographer to adjust how close the lens of the camera can be to the hole, allowing it to move back and forth. It also has a special slot for a tablet that is placed in order to accommodate the handling of the Photo Booth. The technique used allows the wood to curve naturally. It also has a special slot for a tablet that is placed in order to accommodate the handling of the Photo Booth. Moreover, it also carries a vent made of gold plexiglass that has been laser-cut, in case additional equipment is placed inside the box, such as a digital photo printer. For reasons that serve the functionality of the box, there is a door at the back of the same form made of the same wood, which is secured with a lock.

To support the box we designed a photographic tripod. The tripod is entirely made of solid oak, with simple and clean lines. The base of the tripod, where the box is placed, has been handmade from solid timber plywood. This adds both to its aesthetics and stability. As for the legs, their opening is adjusted by special straps made of leather, which are held in place by a brass ring in the center of the tripod.

The finish of the construction was made with polyurethane matte (non yellowing) varnishes.

Design and construction of a Photo booth

With this demanding project, we constructed a Photo Booth to meet a photographer's requirements.

The photo booth box was constructed from birch plywood as well as solid Greek walnuts. To support the box we designed a tripod from scratch. Our goal ,during the design process, was to create both a handy and functional object.

The construction started with the composition of the material ,for which we laminated our two main materials, namely, solid wood and plywood. In this way we created both the legs and the linkage which is the main accessory of the tripod. This particular link is the result of careful design as it carries a mechanism to adjust the angle of the legs and at the same time stabilize them. In addition, it carries a socket that accepts the photo booth box while simultaneously adjusting the rotation of the structure and its stabilization. The construction has been finished with polyurethane matte varnishes.

This construction is a professional equipment for www.magicbooth.gr ,thus a special study was carried out which combines both aesthetics and  usability of a functional object.

This project has come out of pure carpentry because it mostly requires woodworking. The use of our laser cutter was indispensable for all the hidden fasteners as well as the molds of the structure.
